Lester, Helen.  2002.  Tackylocks and the Three Bears.  Houghton Mifflin Company.
New York:  ISBN: 0618224904

Tacky, Goodly, Lovely, Angel, Neatly, and Perfect perform their humorous rendition of Goldilocks and the Three Bears for Ms. Beakley's class.  Of course with Tacky and his gang, things do not always go as planned.  In Tackylocks and the Three Bears, the gang's carefully planned and practiced performance is supposed to closely model the original story.  Not surprisingly, the gang experiences multiple twists during their hilarious performance.  From their failure to capture the audeience's attention in the beginning to the unexpected and amusing ending, Tacky and his gang keep the readers entertained!

Tackylocks and the Three Bears has an extremely humorous tone.  Young readers are allowed to experience the character's hilarious antics on each page through exaggerated and animated character statements.

The illustrations show movement and engage readers in the character's fun filled adventures.  Characters are presented in bright colorful costumes that definitely add to the humorous tone.  The sight of a penguin in a pink frilly dress and a gold wig is more than enough to tickle any young funny bone!
