Introduction

This poem brings back old memories of summertime and everyone in the neighborhood gathering together to play this beloved child's game! Share with children one of your favorite memories playing this game with friends. Ask children have they played the game and encourage them to share their fun Hide-and-Seek experiences!

Hide-and Seek

In the nooks and crannies

Of darkness of my village

Children play hide-and-seek.

You hide so well

You are easy to find,

For with the dense darkness you blend!

So with hands we feel for you.

If you are ticklish,

You chuckle when we touch you.

Sometimes, we touch creepy and squirmy things---

The toucher screams!

The hider jumps out!
