My Grandmother

MI Abuela

My grandmother

Mi abuela

Is a honey-colored woman

Es una mujer color de almibar

Warm as the sand

Calida como la arena

On her tropical island

De su isla tropical.

My grandmother

Mi abuela

Is a tall straight woman

Es una mujer alta y esbelta

Swaying like the palms

Balanceandose como las palmas

On her tropical island

De su isla tropical

My grandmother

Mi abuela

Is a talking woman

Es una mujer habladora

Chattering like the green parrots

Como los pericos

On her tropical island

De su isla tropical

My grandmother

Mi abuela

Sweet sugarcane woman

Dulce mujer de canamiel

I love her so.

Yo la quiero asi.
